Cabler – Cabel and Drum management –
A part of sustainable development strategy

In November 2022 Reka Cabel was accepted into the UN Global Compact, the world’s largest
corporate responsibility initiative. By joining UN Global Compact initiative Reka Cabel commits to The
Ten Principles related to human rights, working conditions, the environment and the prevention of
bribery. Cabler software is a part of environmental responsibility principle.

Cabler – Cabel and drum management app adds value for users and the environment by streamlining
project management, drums recycling and logistical transfer. The goal of Cabler is to digitalise
operations so that the impact of the entire life cycle of the drum on the environment can also be
monitored.

By Cablers project management, the user can deliver and allocate drums to the right work sites and
follow cable consumption almost in real time . An easy-to-use mobile app allows you to make entries
on the work site. The mobile GPS locates the drums on a map, so you know where they are moving.
Tracking is based on a unique drum number and is done by scanning the QR code on the drums.

Knowing where the drums are and how much cable is in them allows for more efficient use of cables
between different work sites and anticipating the need for additional orders, for example. Seeing
empty drums on the map helps to plan logistical solutions. The aim is to reduce unnecessary logistical
movements and to link drum deliveries and returns on the same routes.

Reka has published a drum handling guide, which explains how to handle drums correctly during the
processes. By following these instructions, you can avoid dangerous situations and material damage.

Versowood Riihimäki is a drum return point where damaged drums are repaired and put back into
circulation. If a drum is unrepairable, it is dismantled and the parts are recycled appropriately. By
digitalising the entire drum cycle, it is possible to monitor the drum rotation speed, the number of
drums to be scrapped and the number of not returned drums.

Cabler is a tool for the management of drums and cables that has been developed with customers to
meet their needs, also taking into account the principles of sustainability.
